Archdiocesan Mission of New Evangelisation for Christ
We exist to help every Catholic encounter Jesus personally and grow into a missionary disciple.
Who We Are
AMNEC — the Archdiocesan Mission of New Evangelisation for Christ — is a mission of the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur. We exist to help every Catholic encounter Jesus personally and grow into a missionary disciple.
Working in collaboration with Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO) Canada, we run the AMNEC–CCO Faith Series: a Catholic, evangelistic, small-group-based programme now journeying with parishes across the Archdiocese.

Bringing with enthusiasm the Good News of Jesus Christ in new and creative ways.
To create effective evangelisers by renewing our relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

Why Evangelise?
Evangelisation is not reserved for priests, religious or specialists. Scripture and the Church are clear: every baptised Catholic is called to share the love of Jesus — in everyday life, with the people God places around us.
The Great Commission
Jesus’ final instruction to His disciples was to go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them and teaching them to observe all He commanded — with the promise that He is with us always (Matthew 28:19–20).
Missionary disciples, not “disciples” and “missionaries”
Pope Francis teaches that every Christian is a missionary to the extent that he or she has encountered the love of God in Christ Jesus. We are no longer “disciples” and “missionaries”, but always “missionary disciples” (Evangelii Gaudium 120). This can happen unexpectedly and anywhere: on the street, in a city square, at work, or on a journey (Evangelii Gaudium 127).
The mark of a disciple
Jesus said that everyone will know we are His disciples if we love one another (John 13:35) — loving one another as He has loved us (John 15:12). Love of God overflows into love of self and love of others, bringing happiness to the individual, the family, the nation and all mankind.
No believer in Christ, no institution of the Church can avoid this supreme duty: to proclaim Christ to all peoples.
All of the baptised must announce Jesus with our life, with our witness and with our words.
To evangelise means you have Jesus in your heart, and then you carry Him to the heart of others.

Our Partnership with CCO Canada
AMNEC works in collaboration with Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO), a Canadian Catholic campus and parish movement founded in 1988 by André and Angèle Regnier. For nearly four decades, CCO has helped young people and parishes grow in missionary discipleship.
The CCO Faith Series used by AMNEC carries the Church’s Nihil Obstat (Patrick Fletcher, Censor Deputatus) and Imprimatur from the Archbishop of Ottawa (31 July 2018).
In October 2025, AMNEC members trained in Manila with CCO’s founders and its Parish Support Team, returning to commission 41 Missionary Disciples at the Church of St Francis of Assisi, Cheras.
Why the method works
- It is simple and easy to lead, so everyone can take part
- It happens in small groups of 6–8
- Participants are raised up as leaders to lead others
- Every person is intentionally accompanied
